After receiving quite a shock from an AWS billing notification we jumped in to the console to determine what was going on. It turned out we were getting absolutely smashed by data transfer out of AWS to Fly.io even though we only had a handful of very active users. This would obviously not scale so we had to figure out a solution and quickly.
